METHOD OF BACKING UP DATA

What is Data Backup?

Data backup refers to the copying files or databased to a secondary site for keeping files. It is the purpose of being able to restore files in case of data loss. Data loss can be cause by many things such as computer viruses, hardware failures, file corruption and etc. However human error also can be the caused of Data loss.

Why Do we need to Backup data?

Backing up data is important because devices such as computer can be corrupted. If you backup your data, it can help protect and saves your data if anything is going wrong. Process of backing up data files is usually called file restoration. Data loss can be caused by so many things however by having information backed up and being secured can be a relief for most companies/organisation hence, the business data can be easily recovered  and continue their operations.

Backing up Data are such as:-
  • Cloud Backup
  • External Hard disk 
  • USB Flash Drive
Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is an online backup where the procedure of backing up data involves a sending a copy of the data over a public network to an offsite server. The server usually being used by the third party service provider by charging user a fee based based on the capacity or bandwidth. Third party Cloud Backup are such as:-
  • iCloud
  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox
Performing cloud data backup may support or strengthen an organisation's data protection strategy. It Copies data and stores it on different media for easy access in the event of a recovery situation. Cloud backup serves this purpose for many organisations.

External HardDisk

External Hard Disk is a Wired Devices but nowadays some have wireless capabilities. External Hard Drive holds a data when the computer is being powered off. Hard drive can be plugged in to other sources. Using External Hard Disk for backing up data is good because it has a large capacity up until 16TB and it is more faster backup than using Disc. Mostly External portable devices are in USB 3.0 but your devices must also have the 3.0 to make used of the feature. However it can be damaged and it does need a lot of power to work.

Flash drives are basically portable versions of external hard drives While they were once expensive and available only in small capacities, their prices have dropped and size increased. Files can be transferred and deleted easily off any flash drive, and content can be dragged or dropped depending on where you want it to go. the amount of space available on a typical flash drive is drastically smaller than that of their larger counterparts. Typically, most flash drives can hold around 256GB of data, and if you need more,
