P1: Describe the Internet and the worldwide web are and how they operate.

Internet

What is Internet?

Internet is a telecommunication network that uses telephone lines, cables, satellites and wireless connections to connect computers and other devices to the World Wide Web. Internet comprises network of computers, copper wires, fibre optic cables & wireless networks. All modern computers can connect to the internet, as can many mobile phone and some televisions, video game consoles and other devices. Internet is a global interconnected network of computing devices.

How to set up the Internet ( equipment )

Equipment that are being use in order to set up the internet are such as:-

• Modem
• Router
• Servers
• Cable and connectors

1. Modem

First of all Modem stand for Modulator and Demodulator. What Modulator do?, What Modulator do is to convert digital signals into analog signals and send through telephone lines this process called modulation for Demodulator process mean that you receiving from modem convert analog signals into digital signal.  

2. Router

Router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks or can be mean a device in network that can handle many massages that can be transfers between computers. Routers perform that traffic directing functions on the internet

3. Server

Server is like computer but Server have bigger store. Server is a computer program that provides a service to another computer severs connect via servers. Computers that can connect through servers ether a wide area network or local area network (LAN) called client. 

4.Cable and Connectors

Lastly Cables and connectors is an electrical connectors device used to join electrical terminations and create an electrical circuit. There are many type of cable in the would there many cable for such as television, telephone, computer and many more. Also there are many type of cables, every cable have different input and output. For internet setup shown figure below Modem to Router cable called Ethernet cable, router to computer or PC Ethernet cable.

World Wide Web

What is world wide web?

World Wide Web is where people can searching for information, document and many more from all around the world and personification of human knowledge in other words World Wide Web includes of files folders and documents stored in various computers. World Wide Web is one-set of software services running on the internet.

Protocols 

What is Protocols?

The Internet Protocol (IP) is the technique by which information is sent starting with one PC then onto the next by the Internet. Every PC (known as a host) on the Internet has no less than one IP address that interestingly recognises it from every other PC on the Internet.

There are many types of protocols such as:-

• Internet Protocol (IP)
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
• Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTP)

Internet Service Providers (ISP)

Internet services provider is a company that provides individual and other companies to access the internet. ISP provides a large pipe to the internet by using cable, DSL or Dial up.

Network

What is network?

A network is a multiple device which connected to one another to allow sharing of data. Varies types of network available, but these are the primary network categories which are:-

• Local Area Network (LAN)
• Wide Area Network (WAN)

Advantages of using Network

• The ability to share files quick and easy.
• Giving flexible access to allow the users access files from computer throughout the network
• It is an inexpensive system

Disadvantages of using Network

• It allows the presence of computer malware and viruses.
• lacks of independence, where it will be dependent on the main file server, if it breaks down the system becomes useless and making users idle.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is wireless communication which allows electronic devices to connect and interact and transmit data with each other wirelessly over short distance. Bluetooth purpose is to supplant the links that typically associate gadgets, while as yet keeping the correspondences between them secure.

WI-FI

WI-FI is wireless networking technology using radio waves to provide high-speed internet and allowing devices to communicate without internet cords. it is technically an industry term which it represent a type of wireless local area network protocol
